SERVICE 2018 - EMPHASIS: "FAMILY": Global, Nuclear/Extended, and Church Families. For most of 2018, emphasis will focus on "Family" in all aspects: our Global Family, our Nuclear and Extended Families, and our Church Family. "Global Family" refers to our relationships with all the world's people, the world's religions, and our interaction and support of them. "Nuclear Family" by definition, refers to our immediate family: parents and their (birth or adopted) children. "Extended Family" includes all relatives of the Nuclear Family, both blood and adopted relatives, and any others who are considered "Family". "Church Family" includes both our own congregation, and the wider church, particularly the ELCA and its various expressions, but can also include other Christian communities.
